I am up at 6am studying for two exams this week. Microbiology and physiology. I am part way through prerequisites for entering into a BSN or entry-level Master's program for nursing. This is very tough semester. Both subjects are focused on the minutae of the cell. I have always been obsessed with bacteria and disease since I was a kid so microbiology is endlessly fascinating to me.

I am up at the ass crack of dawn for the 7th straight day hoping to study before the 1pm exam. I am already 25 thousand in debt just going to school for the pre-reqs. I figure I will be almost 100k in debt by the time I finish unless I can get some kind of scholarship or miracle. I am keeping this diary to remember the steps leading up to being a nurse and to remind myself why I am putting myself through hardcore school at age forty after two bouts of cancer and many other disasters.
